Teacher Highlight: Cortney Halstead

At Buddha Bella Healing Center, we are thrilled to introduce and celebrate the beautiful teachers who make our studio a sanctuary for healing and growth. Our first teacher highlight features the wonderful Cortney Halstead, a dedicated yoga practitioner and inspiring instructor.

Q: What is your name?

A: Cortney Halstead

Q: How long have you been practicing yoga?

A: 24 years

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: Avocado toast with chili oil and tajin, with fried eggs, mango, and raspberries.

Q: What is your favorite yoga pose and why?

A: I can’t choose; I love them all.

Q: What style(s) of yoga do you specialize in?

A: I’d say intentional paced Vinyasa.

Q: What is a fun fact about you that most people don't know?

A: I went to school for Bio Engineering for 2 years and then switched gears.

Q: What is your favorite part about teaching yoga?

A: Planting a seed and potentially improving someone’s day or entire life.

Q: What is your advice for someone new to yoga?

A: Be nice to yourself. It’s a process, patience is key. If you can’t smile and breathe comfortably in a pose, it’s not for you today.

Q: If you could swap lives with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

A: I love me; I don’t want to be anyone else.

Q: If you were a yoga pose, which one would you be and why?

A: Easy seated—grounded, calming, and at ease.

Q: Do you have a favorite quote or mantra that you live by?

A: The greatest wealth is health.

Q: What's your go-to karaoke song?

A: "Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

We are excited to share the stories and wisdom of all our beautiful teachers here at Buddha Bella Healing Center. If you want to take a class with Cortney, check out our full schedule HERE to learn more.
